What You'll Get From This Course
Over half of all children in public schools across the country have experienced some form of trauma. The trauma students endure will impact their school experience in predictable and unpredictable ways. This course is designed to prepare subs to consider teaching and learning in a classroom through a trauma-informed lens.
You will learn:
- to understand what traumas students might experience
- how to create a culture of safety in the classroom - even when you are only there for a short time
- to recognize when a student might be triggered and how to respond
- what to do when a student exhibits behaviors that suggest they are coping with stress
This course is filled with helpful material. We're so excited for you to get started. Happy learning!
